Post-Stroke Artistic Explosion

WORKS ON PAPER

These works on paper were done after I experienced a life-threatening series of strokes. The most significant aspect about the collection is that it’s spontaneous and free. I started with a strong gesture of oil pastels and I let that gesture guide the rest of the piece. Then I followed with a thin color acrylic wash. It was a very fast and satisfying process where I didn’t think and I let my body go to a place of receptivity and presence. And what followed was joy.
